Up-market dining

Don’t expect the level of cuisine that can be obtained in the city. ‘Up Market’ is, of course, a relative term. None the less there is some quality food.

  • Pearl is arguably the best restaurant in Inverloch and gets rave reviews on Open Table and Facebook. We have not tried it yet. It replace MannaGum which seemed to lose
  • Vaughans’ Café Deli: Now the best place to eat in Inverloch in our opinion. Good for breakfast as well.
  • Vela Nine. This is a modern and trendy-style café with excellent ambience and reasonable coffee. Meals are pricey though. There are some dubious reviews on Zomato.
  • Amore. This is a new cafe and diner and we haven’t tried it yet.
  • Inverloch Chinese. This is surprisingly good despite the ordinary look of the interior. They do the usual fare. The flaming Mongolian Beef is a favourite with our family.
  • Tomo (Japanese-Western fusion): This is a fairly new restaurant that is also very good. The chef has arrived only recently from Nagasaki and—according to a recent review—plans to do food similar to Ocha in Kew (for which one has to be on a waiting list for 3 months!) We have tried it and it is very good. Authentic Japanese cook, not Chinese or Thai pretenders.
  • RACV Club Inverloch. This place has panoramic views of Anderson’s Inlet, but it is an average restaurant that really just takes advantage of the fantastic views. It is near the foreshore west of Anembo along the Esplanade Road near Flat Rocks about 2-3 kms. They are fine if you just order coffee and sit and look at the view. The Devonshire tea is excellent. Go early to appreciate the sunset over the inlet.
  • The Cape Tavern which is further afield in Cape Paterson has excellent reviews.
